The Orakei project was designed for resale so we wanted to keep the interior design neutral and suited to many different tastes. The overall inspiration was coastal as a nod to the surrounding beaches. We paired textured limestone and terrazzo in the main bathroom complemented with a walnut vanity. A sandblasted travertine fireplace in the main living room created a focal point and lived-in feel. Hand-glazed porcelain tiles were used in the powder/shower room in a soft greige to tie back with the large-scale terrazzo floor tiles. Knotted oak hardwood floor gave warmth to the space and an easy-care finish.
